ddrum's use of alder wood in our Reflex series is a
groundbreaking tone choice, and a first in the drum industry.
Some of the most iconic guitar and bass bodies have been made from alder wood since the early 1950s, harnessing a deep, rich, tone that (thanks to ddrum) can now be experienced in a drum set.
We call the resulting sound Aldertone®, and it's been described as warm, deep, focused, punchy, fulfilling, and rewarding to play. It's 'naturally equalized,' with smooth overtones and a warm decay.
